ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Rachel Tan is a versatile, intuitive artist born in Singapore. She has developed a great passion for painting and drawing from a young age. Ever since she struggled to learn to play the piano like her older sister but suffered and that’s when she turn to Art.

She practice mainly on contemporary art, inspired by stories, novels and anime. She tries to explore different mediums in her work as well as experiment with the different ways/technique with making art.

Rachel explores the concept of the mind, imagination and dreams of how the effects of colors and texture bring our imagination to life inspired by the movie ‘inception’.

She plans to explore the effects of semi- realism and hyper-realism incorporating with Mythology and the supernatural stories.

 using programs such as photoshop, dry mediums like pastel and color pencils and in wet mediums such as acrylic and oil.
